One Eye Dilated?!?

Hello. I take allergy shots and i came home from getting my shots and when i looked , my left eye ,the pupile is huge and in my right eye it is normal size. It has been like this for 2hrs. But i also wear contacts. Is this an allergict reactshion or just my contacts. Please do not answers if you do not knwo what you are talk ing about. Thank you!
Answer:
It could be several things. Have you recently hit your head on that side. If so, there could be a serious problem and you should seek medical attention now! It also could be an allergic reaction. If your pupil does not reduce in size my tomorrow morning, see your doctor ASAP.
sounds like a brain hemorrhage.
Which side is the light? It may be lighter on one side than the other eye?
May I suggest that if you don't want answers from people who 'don't know what they are talking about' then you ask your doctor/hospital rather than post on here?
For one so high and mighty maybe it's time you learnt to spell or get your eyes fixed!

Yo.
not a good sign--please go to the emergency room or ophthalmologist as soon as possible---having one dilated pupil isn't good----good luck!
Hi star,

obviously i cannot be sure what is wrong with you as i am not medically trained however, one morning i woke up and looked in the mirror and seen the same thing, one eye was more dialted than the other, i panicked and passed out..i ended up having to go to A%26E and when i told them they weren't bothered..they took my blood pressure and i was fine, so perhaps you are also... however, my eyes did not stay that way for as long as yours...it would be an idea to ring an out of hours doctor and speak to someone just to make sure you are ok or if you are in the uk ring the NHS direct telephone number!

Best of luck!

If you normally have allergy shots %26 normally wear contacts then it might not be a reaction to contacts. Go for an eye examination as soon as possible as it could be anything ! Have you taken any medication that you dont normally take / as this could possibly react with your allergy shot.
See you're optician or GP ASAP. This may be nothing or it could be a sign of a very serious underlying problem. Do not ignore this symptom hoping it will go away. best of luck!
The sudden onset of anisocoria, unequal pupils, is worrisome. I assume you didn't have anyone put drops in your eye before this happened.

If it is the left eye that is larger than normal and reacts poorly to light, that is, it does not constrict very much when you shine a light in it, you would have to consider pressure on the third cranial nerve on the left side. You would want to rule out abnormal pressure on that side of the brain. This can be an emergency.

If it is the right eye that is abnormally small, I suppose the situation is less urgent, but I am not absolutely sure of this.

My recommendation would be to see an ophthalmologist (MD or DO) or a neurologist promptly. If it is after office hours as it is here in the Eastern Daylight time zone, you could go to an emergency room. At least, you should call your doctor. I hope he/she doesn't blow it off.
Have you used any eye drops? Most of the over-the-counter products, such as Visine, are topical decongestants -- they constrict the dilated blood vessels (a process called vasoconstriction). That's what gets the red out. if not, I would suggest calling the doc to ease your mind.
