k so for the last 3 days I have had on and off low to medium grade fever, throughout the night I kept waking up sometimes burning sometimes freezing, I also have a cough and am short of breath, I am going to a doctor, but does anyone here know what can be causing inconsistent fever?

You probably have a cold or even the flu. If you're too uncomfortable see a doctor and get a shot of Celestone and an Rx for some good cough syrup. If it doesn't go away within two weeks see a doctor for sure.
It might just be the way your body is fighting off the cold or, if you are taking any meds like advil that will cause your temp to go up and down.
Well I was thinking flu, but your short of breath? Now, Im not a genious but isnt that something to do with your respirtory sytem?
it could be anything from allergies to arthritis.and by that i mean something very simple.and easily cured...or waited out.
or it could be something debilitating.
the best thing is to see the doc...
